On the afternoon of May 29th, the School of International Education collaborated with Zhiqijie Community to host the "Encountering Henan" Dragon Boat Festival cultural exchange event. International students and community residents engaged enthusiastically, jointly crafting mugwort flower bouquets and immersing themselves in the unique charm of traditional Chinese festivals amidst joy and harmony.
At the event's start, international students shared the medicinal properties of mugwort and demonstrated how to make the flower bouquets. Gathering around, participants chatted animatedly as they worked, their laughter filling the air. The students extended heartfelt wishes to the residents, who in turn lauded the students' efforts.
Following the activity, the College treated the international students to delicious zongzi. Savoring the sweet and savory rice dumplings, the students couldn't help but give thumbs - up, praising the traditional Chinese cuisine. They expressed that while enjoying the zongzi, they were reminded of the origins and stories behind the Dragon Boat Festival, deepening their understanding of its food culture and making them feel the care and warmth of the College.
The "Encountering Henan" cultural exchange series has become an increasingly renowned international vocational education brand for the School of International Education.
