On the afternoon of September 12th, theOpeningCeremony for the 2024 freshmen ofSchool of International Educationwas held in Room 1301inMingli Building. President Xia Xinyan and Dean Mohammad Suhami Abu Rahman of the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, UniversityKebangsaanMalaysia, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Leaders, faculty members and allfreshmenof International School of Engineeringwere present. The ceremony was hosted by Wang Wei, Dean of International School of Engineering.
President Xia Xinyan firstwelcomedthe delegation from Malaysia, congratulated all thefreshmen inInternational School of Engineering and thanked the teachers for their hard work. She emphasized thatInternational School of Engineering bringstogether high-quality educational resources from both China and Malaysia, and shehoped thatstudents would not only excel in their professional knowledge but also learn how tobehave and conduct themselves well.President Xiaalso encouraged students tocultivate a sense of social responsibility and dedication,therebycreatinga bright future with their wisdom and hard work.
Mohammad Suhami Abu Rahman noted that China and Malaysia havea long history of diplomatic relations and extensive cooperation in the field of education. UniversityKebangsaanMalaysiais delighted to work with Henan Polytechnic to provide a platform for students' growth and development. He also expressed his expectation that the students would continue their studies in Malaysia and become highly qualified talents with international competitiveness.
Yu Jin,ViceDean ofInternational School of Engineering, spoke on behalf of the faculty and introduced the basic situation of the college. She hopedthat they would strive for academic progress and excel in moral cultivation, social responsibilityand international commitment. Hou Anqi, a representative of the 2024 Computer Application Technologymajor, shared her aspirations for university life and her determination to face future challenges with a more open mindset and enthusiasm.
