On the afternoon of June 6th, School of International Education organized a Chinese cultural exchange event themed "Fragrant Zongzi, Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Dragon Boat Festival." President Xia Xinyan and Vice President Lu Dong attended the event, which was hosted by Yu Jin, Vice Dean of School of International Education.
President Xia Xinyan expressed her gratitude and best wishes to the foreign teachers and international students, and also shared her expectations for the event. She pointed out that the Dragon Boat Festival is an important traditional festival in China, carrying profound cultural significance and national sentiments. She hoped that foreign teachers and students could gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and enjoy the charm of China's intangible cultural heritage through this event.
Subsequently, Jiang Bai, a representative of international students, shared the history of the Dragon Boat Festival and introduced common activities associated with the festival. Sun Zhongyou, a student from School of Smart Health, and Kang Lili, a teacher from School of Digital Creation and Design, showed the methods for making zongzi (rice dumplings) and dyeing fragrant sachets, atraditional Chinese craft. Finally, everyone participated in hands-on activities happily, experiencing the fun of making zongzi and fragrant sachets.
